CLP has advised on the acquisition of Backstube

CLP has assisted Jordanes AS in its acquisition of 100% of the shares in Fehmab AS. Fehmab AS owns and operates the rapidly growing fast casual bakery concept Backstube. Backstube was established in 2016 and has since its incorporation established 32 branches all over Norway. During the past three years, Backstube has had an annual growth of 46%.

Fehmab AS shares Jordanes’ challenger mindset and the acquisition strengthens Jordanes’ position as a leading Scandinavian brand house within everyday products and services. Dag Teigland, CEO of Jordanes AS, says: “Backstube provides a very attractive exposure to the Norwegian consumer. We will contribute insights from our work on building and growing existing food concepts and brands, while they will bring new thinking to Jordanes. The job that the founders have done is impressive and we look forward to having them on the team”.

Felix Heinrich and Matthias Bresser, founders of Backstube AS, commented that: “Backstube’s vision has always been to offer high-quality bakery products at good prices, available to people on the go and with sustainable alternatives. Becoming a part of Jordanes means that we can continue to challenge the market as we have done since 2016. It also gives us the opportunity to reach even more customers, through new stores and new channels. We are very excited to further develop Backstube together with the entire Jordanes team and the company’s founders”.

CLPs team consisted of Andreas Kildal, Kristoffer Gjesdahl, Axel Woxholth, Erik Sletner,  Julie Reinfjord,  Stian Lockert and Jon Lauvstad Kruken.
