The Norwegian Transparency Act
CLP aims to contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promote human rights, and act responsibly in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. One element of this is our work with the Transparency Act.
The Transparency Act aims to promote companies’ respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions and ensure public access to information. We take the Transparency Act seriously and actively work to promote fundamental human rights and decent working conditions, as well as openly share our assessments and measures.
As part of our commitment, we conduct thorough due diligence to identify and address potential risks associated with our operations. We assess both our internal affairs and the affairs of our suppliers and business partners, taking an active approach to responsibly manage our impact on society and consider our supply chain.
We are aware of the importance of strong partnerships with stakeholders who share our values and commitments. Therefore, we strive to have a good overview of our supply chain and other business partners. We conduct supplier assessments to ensure that our suppliers and business partners adhere to our high standards of ethical business conduct, human rights protection, and decent working conditions. This involves being mindful in the selection of suppliers and business partners, conducting risk assessments to identify potential risks of human rights violations and decent working conditions, conducting audits, and, where necessary, implementing appropriate measures for continuous improvement of our value chain. We have established a set of ethical guidelines (Code of Conduct) that we ask our key suppliers and business partners to commit to.
Internally, we continuously work on evaluating and improving our policies and processes. This includes our ethical guidelines, whistleblowing procedures, and initiatives to promote internal equality and diversity. We believe in the importance of a strong foundation that supports our vision of a sustainable, fair, and inclusive law firm.
We also bring our commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability into our advisory work. We focus on developing our expertise in sustainability-related regulations so that through our advice, we can contribute to a sustainable shift in the business sector. We have prepared a statement that provides an overview of our due diligence, including identified risks and the measures we implement to address these risks. You can download the statement below.
